🦁 Aldi Has Arrived! Plus BBQ, Lions and Weekend Fun.

I swung by the Sunset Regal this weekend to see Warfare. Intense movie. I’m a vet. Served before 9/11 so I never saw combat, but it reminded me of stories I’ve heard from friends who did. Definitely felt real.

Honestly though, I was just happy to be sitting in that theater with an ice cold Dr Pepper. Got me thinking about summer coming up, and how we’re all gonna be looking for places to beat the heat — with or without the kids in tow.

If you ever wondered what a lion’s version of retirement looks like, you’ll find it here—and it’s pretty heartwarming. Lion Habitat Ranch is a quiet little spot where lions, giraffes, and other wildlife enjoy a slower, pampered life thanks to a passionate, knowledgeable staff.

🛒 Aldi Opens First Nevada Store in Henderson

Aldi officially opened its first-ever Nevada store in Henderson on April 24, drawing big crowds and plenty of early buzz. Shoppers got a sneak peek ahead of opening day—and some lucky visitors scored major discounts in the store’s exclusive “High Savers Room.”

The popular grocer is known for quality goods at budget-friendly prices, and its Westward expansion is making waves. Henderson residents now have a new go-to for smart savings and weekly essentials. Read more here.

🏠 Senior Apartments Approved in Boulder City

A long-closed assisted living facility in southeast Boulder City is getting a second life. The former Homestead site, vacant for years, will be converted into 120 senior-friendly apartments after the city council gave final approval on April 23.

Half of the units will be compact studios under 500 square feet, designed to offer affordable options for residents on fixed incomes. While not income-restricted, the project aims to serve Boulder City’s growing senior population. Renovations are expected to begin soon. Learn more here.
