Football season is in FULL swing. Our Las Vegas indoor team, the Hawks, won the national championship a couple months ago, UNLV’s football team is playing way above pre-season expectations… and… we won’t talk about the Raiders 🙂

Thanks to some amazing volunteer coaches in both Henderson and Summerlin, Gabe’s flag football team is currently undefeated and the season is rolling right along. It’s his first year playing, and Karina and I are already bracing ourselves for the day he asks to switch to tackle football. That’ll be a tough family decision. For now, he’s learning the game, figuring out teamwork, and getting used to listening to coaches in a real team environment.

I have to say, one of the BEST things about living in Henderson is the local parks, the endless sports leagues, and the incredible parents who show up and give their time to coach these kids just because they care. A huge thank you to all the coaches out there!

The Gist: At her recent State of the City address, Mayor Michelle Romero shared some big wins for Henderson. Violent crime is down 18 percent, deadly crashes are down 50 percent, and the city is moving forward with major projects like the old Fiesta site redevelopment and the Re-Imagine Boulder Highway plan.
