🍣 Sushi that goes big on flavor and portions

5 S Valle Verde Dr #210, Henderson
Generous portions and fresh flavors make Toro Sushi a standout among local sushi spots. Rolls arrive big and beautifully presented, sashimi is top quality, and even the classics like teriyaki and California rolls taste elevated.
The space is cozy, so reservations help during peak times, but friendly service keep guests coming back. Whether it’s a quick lunch bento or a full sushi feast, this spot never disappoints.

🏠 Howard Hughes home headed to Henderson museum

The Gist: Clark County has committed $1.5 million to move Howard Hughes’ former Las Vegas home to the Clark County Museum in Henderson. The house will anchor a new 1970s exhibit on Heritage Street, with plans to restore the garage into classrooms. The museum guild is working to raise another $1.6 million to complete the $4.3 million project.
Why It Matters: The relocation preserves a piece of Vegas history, giving future generations a chance to step inside the home of one of the valley’s most influential figures. It’s a unique way to connect community roots to the city’s past.

⏰ CCSD weighs later school start times

The Gist: Clark County School District is considering pushing all school start times back by 30 minutes beginning in the 2026-27 year. Officials say the change could improve student sleep and mental health, and they’ve launched a community survey open through Oct. 17 to gather input.
Why It Matters: With more than 320,000 students, even a half-hour shift would affect daily routines across the valley. Families are split, but many students say the extra rest could make a real difference in their school day.
