Gabe and I were out of town recently and had some of the best BBQ I've ever tasted. Ever since moving to Vegas, I've been on the hunt for great barbecue, but it's been a challenge. My two go-to spots over the last five years have both closed.

āļø Boulder City lands $10M airport grant
The Gist: Boulder City Municipal Airport received a $10 million federal grant to help fund a new air traffic control tower. The airport, one of Nevadaās busiest for passenger activity, expects construction to begin this fall, with the tower slated to open by summer 2028.
Why It Matters: Infrastructure upgrades like this often happen behind the scenes, but they can have a big impact on safety and reliability. The project should support the regionās busy air tour industry while bringing construction jobs now and aviation jobs in the years ahead.
š Henderson fieldhouse sets opening date
The Gist: Henderson Sport and Social, a new $70 million indoor sports and entertainment complex, is scheduled to open in October. The 180,000-square-foot facility will feature basketball and volleyball courts, indoor turf fields, bowling lanes, laser tag, an arcade, fitness space, and family-friendly amenities.
Why It Matters: As Henderson continues to grow, residents are looking for more places to play, compete, and gather close to home. This project brings youth sports, recreation, and entertainment under one roof, creating a new community hub for families across the valley.

At Huevos Avenue, the line at the door usually tells you everything you need to know. Locals and road-trippers heading toward Hoover Dam crowd in for hearty breakfasts like huevos rancheros loaded with chorizo, chilaquiles, oversized breakfast burritos, and sweet coffee cake pancakes.
Portions are generous, the service is genuinely welcoming, and the green salsa has earned plenty of fans of its own. One visit is usually enough to understand why so many people make a return stop whenever they're passing through Boulder City.
