Henderson’s next big recreation destination now has a name and an opening target. The new $70 million West Henderson indoor sports and entertainment complex will officially be called Henderson Sport & Social, and it is scheduled to open in October 2026. For a city that continues to grow quickly, especially on the west side, this is one of those projects that feels like it could become a major community hub.

The facility is being built at 3375 St. Rose Parkway, near St. Rose and Maryland Parkways, behind Chicken N Pickle. The City of Henderson broke ground on the project in May 2025, and construction has remained on schedule for a fall 2026 opening. Earlier this year, the project reached a major milestone when the steel frame topped off, giving residents a clearer look at the size and shape of what is coming.

What makes Henderson Sport & Social exciting is that it is not just a gym or a single-use sports venue. The facility is planned as a state-of-the-art indoor fieldhouse designed for youth sports tournaments, regional events, local recreation, and family entertainment. KemperSports says the venue will be approximately 180,000 square feet, while the City previously described the fieldhouse as a 160,000-square-foot, two-story facility. Either way, this is a major indoor recreation investment for Henderson.

The planned features include:

  • Basketball courts convertible for volleyball and pickleball

  • Indoor turf fields for soccer, box lacrosse, flag football, baseball, and other sports

  • Fitness center

  • Multipurpose meeting rooms

  • Community event spaces

  • Birthday party rooms

  • Family entertainment center

  • Potential bowling, laser tag, arcade games, miniature golf, restaurant, and bar

  • Youth sports tournaments and regional events

For Henderson families, this could be a huge addition. Indoor sports space matters in Southern Nevada because the summer heat can make outdoor activities tough for months at a time. A facility like this gives kids, teams, leagues, and families a year-round place to play, train, compete, and gather. It also gives Henderson another reason to attract regional sports tourism, which can support local hotels, restaurants, and small businesses.

The public-private partnership is another important piece. The total project cost is $70 million, with KemperSports contributing $10 million. The remaining one-time costs are being funded through the Public Infrastructure Bond Sale, West Henderson Development Fund, and City Municipal Facilities Fund. KemperSports is also expected to provide development oversight and long-term management of the complex.

My take is this: Henderson Sport & Social could become one of the most important community projects in West Henderson. It brings together sports, recreation, entertainment, events, and family-friendly amenities in a part of town that continues to see major growth. Whether you have kids in youth sports, play pickleball, coach a team, host events, or just want more indoor things to do in Henderson, this is a project worth watching.
