👨‍🍳 Henderson’s about to get a taste of Emeril’s magic

Well, 18 hours in the car each way… that was fun.

Last week, Gabe and I wrapped an amazing outdoor adventure at Twin Eagles Wilderness Survival in northern Idaho. After an 18-hour drive there, five days in the wilderness with absolutely no technology (not even an analog wristwatch), and an 18-hour drive back, I’m spent.

Time in nature, outside the city, was a great reset for both of us. Below is a picture of us after a camouflage course, or as Gabe called it, “the best game of hide-and-seek ever!”

As we head into the cooler part of the year, I’m wondering where you like to enjoy the outdoors in and around Henderson. Reply to this email with your favorite fall outdoor activity or hot spot, and we’ll try to feature it in a future newsletter.

The Gist: Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse is bringing his New Orleans flair off the Strip with the debut of Meril at the M Resort in Henderson, set to open December 1. Named after his daughter, the restaurant is known for its lively atmosphere and globally inspired plates, from Gulf yellowfin tuna bundles to gumbo and General Tso’s broccoli.

This will be the second Meril location after the New Orleans original, adding fresh energy to Henderson’s growing dining scene.

The Gist: Starting in the 2026–27 school year, lacrosse will officially become a sanctioned sport in Nevada schools. To help the youngest players get ready, Westward Lacrosse and Vegas Strong Lacrosse are hosting Pop-Up Littles sessions this fall and winter for PreK–2nd graders at Reid Marketplace Park. The six-week program includes skill building, drills, and mini-games in a fun, non-contact format.
