Summer’s here—and so are the 100-degree days. We love being outside, especially poolside... but sometimes you just need AC and a roof.

Our summer plan is a mix: outdoor adventures, indoor playgrounds, lots of movie theater popcorn, and maybe a few indoor sporting events.

We just took the family to a Las Vegas Aces game. As a lifelong Lakers fan who’s sat through hundreds of games at Staples, I was skeptical. But I was impressed. The energy was high, the production was solid, and the kids had a blast.

It was their first pro basketball game—and they got to watch a comeback win. Tickets? Just $40.

🏗️ $50M Shopping Center Proposal Heads to Vote

Henderson city leaders are gearing up to vote on a $50 million proposal that would transform three outdated office buildings near Sunset Road and Stephanie Street into a vibrant new shopping center. The plan, backed by Gatski Commercial, envisions a retail and restaurant hub to replace the largely vacant structures on 12.5 acres.

If approved, construction could begin in early 2026, bringing new life to a prime but underused location just off I-215. The city council is set to decide on June 4. Read more here.

📈 Henderson Leads Nevada Growth

Henderson is officially one of America’s fastest-growing cities. According to a new report from StorageCafe, Henderson’s population jumped 22% over the past decade—more than any other Nevada city—growing from 266,000 to 324,000 residents.

You can feel the momentum. More housing. More storage. A 41% increase in self-storage space alone shows how much demand is rising.

It’s not just growth for the sake of it—Henderson’s got real appeal. Solid infrastructure, great schools, tons of parks, and you’re a short drive from Vegas. It’s easy to see why people want to plant roots here! More info here.

🛫 REAL ID Now Required for Domestic Flights in Nevada

Heads up, Nevada flyers: as of May 7, you must have a REAL ID (or a valid passport) to board domestic flights or enter federal facilities. The REAL ID features a star in the upper corner and replaces standard state IDs for federal purposes.

If you haven’t upgraded yet, you’ll need to bring documents proving your identity, Social Security number, and Nevada residency to a DMV location.
