The Dam Short Film Festival is back in Boulder City for its 22nd annual celebration of cinema, bringing a vibrant blend of storytelling, indie energy, and community spirit to Southern Nevada. Running from February 11–16, 2026, this six‑day event has become one of the most beloved film festivals in the region, attracting filmmakers and audiences from around the world to Boulder City’s historic downtown.

Launched in 2005 by passionate film lovers, the festival is organized by the nonprofit Dam Short Film Society and has grown into a major platform for short-form storytelling. Over two decades, it has showcased thousands of dynamic films — from gripping dramas and quirky comedies to eye-catching animations and bold documentaries — all in an atmosphere that celebrates creativity and community.
More Than Just Screenings
This year’s festival lineup features over 140 short films, divided into more than 25 themed screening blocks. Genres range from horror and sci-fi to international shorts, animation, and a spotlight on local Nevada filmmakers — ensuring there’s something for every taste.

But it's not just about watching — the festival offers Q&A sessions, filmmaker meet-and-greets, and lively mixers that make connecting easy and engaging. It’s a chance to go beyond the credits and hear from the minds behind the movies.
All screenings take place in the charming Elaine K. Smith Building, a venue that adds to the nostalgic, artsy vibe of the event — think old-school cinema with a modern twist.
A Small Town with a Big Love for Film
Boulder City is more than just a backdrop. Known for its Hoover Dam history and small-town warmth, the community embraces this event as a local treasure. Whether you’re strolling between screenings, chatting with filmmakers, or grabbing a bite between blocks, the entire city buzzes with festival energy.
In a world of blockbusters and streaming overload, the Dam Short Film Festival proves there’s still something powerful — and refreshingly human — about short stories told on the big screen.
