The ornaments are packed up and the lights are unplugged—but what about your once-glorious Christmas tree? If you live in Henderson or Boulder City, your tree can still serve a purpose long after the holidays are over.

From December 26 through January 15, both cities are offering free Christmas tree recycling drop-off to turn your real (non-artificial) tree into mulch for local parks, gardens, and landscapes. It's a simple way to close out the season and support sustainability in your community.
🌱 Henderson Drop-Off Location:
📍 Pecos Legacy Park
Drop off your undecorated, unflocked real Christmas tree (no stands, tinsel, or lights).
Bonus: Free mulch is available for residents to pick up here while supplies last!
🌿 Boulder City Drop-Off Location:
📍 Bravo Field Parking Lot (next to Veteran's Memorial Park)
Conveniently located for Boulder City residents.
Trees will be chipped into mulch and reused for public beautification efforts.
Why Recycle?
Keeps trees out of landfills where they produce harmful methane gas.
Helps with dust control and water retention in parks and community spaces.
Supports local gardening and conservation programs.
Over 15,000 trees have been recycled annually since the program began in 2001.
Reminder:
Only real trees are accepted—no fake trees, tinsel, lights, ornaments, or flocking. Artificial trees can be donated to programs like Opportunity Village if still in good condition.
Make It Count
Recycling your Christmas tree is a small act with a big impact. Henderson and Boulder City are making it easier than ever to ditch your tree without trashing the planet.
So before you haul it to the curb, give your tree the farewell it deserves—by turning it into something that gives back to your community.
