🌄 The plans for Henderson West may be changing

Last week was ‘All About Alina!’ My daughter has been such a superstar this summer, supporting her big brother. Hours of football practice in the heat where she didn’t complain once, and she even jumped into every practice to be the official water girl!

She deserved some one-on-one time with Daddy, and I let her pick anything she wanted to do. As luck would have it, she wanted to go to a concert, and not just any concert. When I took big brother Gabe to his first concert three years ago, Alina was too young to go. Gabe got to see Guns N’ Roses at Allegiant Stadium a few years back, and guess who was playing there again last weekend? We had a blast, and she almost made it through the entire show.

The Gist: Henderson City Council will consider canceling the agreements for Henderson West, a more than 100-acre mixed-use project near St. Rose Parkway and the Raiders headquarters. The original plans called for homes, shops, commercial space and parks, but the property has remained undeveloped since the project was approved in 2020.

Why It Matters: The land is still in a part of Henderson that’s seeing plenty of new homes, businesses and development. While the original Henderson West plan may be changing, the property isn’t going away. Removing the old agreements could open the door for a new approach, whether that means one larger project or several smaller ones that fit the area today.
