🛼 Henderson This Week: Food, Fades, Free Skates

Hey, neighbors!

Slow week for our team on the Henderson HQ Instagram as the wife and I were in Cabo and the kiddos were at grandma’s. We even took a road trip up to Todos Santos (about an hour north of Cabo) to see world famous Hotel California.

Cabo, off the beaten path, is my happy place for authentic Mexican food.

For quick carne asada burritos, our family LOVES Faustos right off of College drive. BUT, the best aguachiles & ceviche (basically Mexican sushi) can be found at Chile Caliente on Whitney Ranch. It's our favorite hidden gem.

🍳 Hometown Country Kitchen

If you're in the mood for some good old-fashioned fish & chips, this place is a neighborhood favorite. The cod is always perfectly crispy, and their tartar sauce is a must-try. The cozy vibe makes it the perfect spot for a casual meal with friends or family.

Plus, their menu has plenty of options to please everyone, whether you’re a seafood lover or just in for some comfort food.

💈 Visionary Barbershop

If you want a sick fade—hit up Jesus (@blurryyjc_) at my go-to spot, Visionary Barbershop off Sunset in Henderson. The cuts are always clean, the vibe is chill, and the crew knows what they’re doing.

It’s the kind of place where you leave looking sharp and already thinking about your next appointment. Feels more like kicking it with friends than just getting a trim. Easily the best barbershop in town. Book a chair—you’ll see what I mean.

🏘️ Affordable Housing Coming Soon

Sunrise Ranch Apartments is coming to Henderson, bringing 144 affordable units—60 of them set aside for young adults leaving foster care. The complex will have two- and three-bedroom apartments, a clubhouse, a computer lab, a fitness center, and outdoor spaces.

Nevada HAND, a local nonprofit, is leading the project with help from the state, Clark County, Henderson, and Las Vegas. Clark County Social Services will be on-site to support young adults adjusting to independent living.

Officials say this project will make a big difference for low-income families and young folks starting out on their own. It’s set to open in late 2026.

⛸️ Free Ice Skating in Henderson

Beat the heat and lace up your skates—free ice skating is back in Henderson! The City of Henderson and America First Center are offering several free public skate sessions, open to all ages and skill levels.

Upcoming dates include April 14th, May 4th, and May 27th. Registration is required, and spots fill fast. A fun, chilly way to glide into spring with your neighbors! Read more here.
