🌄 Henderson’s massive new sports complex opens soon

It was a rare couple’s date night for the Groves and Gracian family. We checked out the new Stoney’s Bar & Grille here in Henderson at the Sunset Stations casino. 

Yours truly, that’s me, Scott, is not much of a dancer. I’m definitely not a line dancer. So I didn’t partake in the #1 activity this place has to offer. I also may have had a couple drinks, so wasn’t feeling the call of the mechanical bull.

That being said, the drinks were reasonably priced, the vibe was great, and music was wonderful. Highly recommend checking it out! 

The Gist: Henderson is getting a major economic boost over the next year with the addition of over 1,000 new jobs. City leaders and Henderson Chamber of Commerce CEO Scott Muelrath shared the news at the 82nd annual State of Commerce luncheon. Highlights include a new Haas automation plant, an upcoming sports complex, and a fresh organizational focus on advancing local manufacturing.

Why It Matters: The incoming facility will drive strong workforce demand and open doors for small businesses to build meaningful partnerships. It shows that Henderson continues to be a vibrant, growing community where both new and established businesses can thrive together.

The Gist: Henderson Sport & Social, the new $70 million fieldhouse at 3375 St. Rose Parkway, officially opens Friday, Oct. 16, with a soft opening beginning Oct. 5. The 180,000-square-foot complex includes four basketball courts, 20 bowling lanes, a two-story laser tag arena, mini-golf, an arcade, two indoor turf fields, a fitness center, dining and a full-service bar.

Why It Matters: The facility is already fully booked with events every weekend from October through December. Henderson residents receive 20% off sports registration, and no membership is required to visit. Grand opening weekend on Oct. 16 and 17 will include a silent auction benefiting Cure 4 The Kids Foundation.

September brings the Best Dam Wine Walk, a T-shirt-cutting workshop, plant bingo and chunky pumpkin finger-knitting. Iron Rose is also nominated for Best of Las Vegas in three categories: gardening, unique gifts and woman-owned business. Voting ends tonight, Sept. 10!
