For some people, like my wife Karina, the summer heat in Vegas can be a lot. When we moved here six years ago, part of our family agreement was that summer would be the season for indoor fun, water time, and trips to places in July and August that don’t hit 115 degrees.
Luckily, Henderson has some great indoor gyms for kids and adults, along with excellent splash pads, water parks, and Lake Mead activities that make the heat a little easier to handle. And heading out of town will probably still be part of the plan this summer. St. George, where we stayed last week (HERE!), Duck Creek, and maybe even a beach trip to San Diego are all on our list.

🐾 Henderson Rescues 40+ Animals
The Gist: Henderson Animal Protection Services removed more than 40 animals from a home near Galleria Drive and Eastgate Road after reports of unsanitary and neglectful conditions. Dogs, cats, birds, turtles, ferrets, and others are now receiving veterinary care and will become available for adoption once medically cleared.
Why It Matters: Animal welfare cases affect the whole community because they speak to safety, compassion, and accountability. The bright spot here is that dozens of animals now have a chance at proper care and, soon, loving homes with families ready to welcome them.
